My wife and I came here to get an appraisal. They were quick to get it done accurately and also tightened the prongs on her jewelry. They are very nice and helpful and answered all my questions and made the process as easy as possible. I would definitely recommend them to people in the future.

Always such a pleasure to deal with all of the professionals at Dempsey & Baxter! I'm originally born and raised in Erie but live elsewhere now, and every time I come home to visit family, I always make a stop to Dempsey & Baxter--it is the only place I will trust with my jewelry repairs and maintenance! Brian was amazing in absolutely every way—knowledgeable, caring, patient, kind, and genuinely invested in helping us. And Mike was just as on point! We were selling coins that had been passed down through the family, and my mom is a total detail-lover who needs to know everything. Brian and Mike handled it perfectly. The selection here, whether estate/vintage or new, makes the styles at department stores and jewelry chains look like it came from a gumball machine. They are clearly intentional about selecting pieces not found elsewhere. Their vintage jewelry never looks dated and they offer pieces which maintain their aesthetic appeal over time. To me, stopping in to browse has the same effect as looking at fine art in a museum. The other quality they have which sets them apart from other, similar businesses, is that, when having items appraised or questions about the value of an item, their approach is confident and kind. Too often, experts in appraisal condescend in such a way, that one hardly wants to engage the process. Here, they seem to know that they are the experts and have cultivated a culture of warm, knowledgeable, expertise.

Mike was so personable, friendly, helpful, honest and kind, I can’t say enough about him. We will definitely be back. Also, we have to compliment Lesley. She is awesome and so knowledgeable …she always greets us and remembers us every time we come in. Love love love coming into your store!

I had a great experience, once again, with the sales team at Dempsey and Baxter. Jeff has taught me a lot through each coin transaction. And along with everyone else I've met here, they are all so pleasant, and patient. I would highly recommend them to anyone on the buying or selling of jewelry and coins. It's nice to have a hometown jeweler we can trust.
